If the first week of the year sets the tone, mine started with a plot twist—queue flu symptoms, blankets, and a few days of doing absolutely nothing! Thankfully, I’m on the mend now, and today felt like a turning point as I made it back to the gym and went out for a dog walk. The crisp January air reminded me just how good it feels to be outside and move again.
Onwards and upwards!
On a brighter note, I’ve been in a creative groove lately. These past two weeks, I’ve painted more than I did in the entire second half of 2024. My mind seems to be bursting with ideas and inspiration, and I have returned to my beloved seascape paintings, which feels good.
I’m working on a new collection that I plan to launch in early March to celebrate Spring’s arrival. To make it extra special, I’ll be offering a VIP email list where subscribers can preview the collection and get the first chance to secure a favourite piece. Keep an eye on my socials and website for more details soon!
Workshops are also off to a great start. Last Saturday, we gathered at our new venue, Martlesham Pavilion, to paint seascapes in acrylics. The space is warm, bright, and perfect for creative energy—and the kitchen hatch is a game-changer for tea and cake runs! I had the loveliest group of ladies join me, and seeing them explore seascape painting and finding their creativity reminded me how much I love running these workshops. If you’re curious about upcoming events, all the info is on my socials or website.
My studio has become a game-changer. It’s so inspiring to have a space dedicated to creating, and it’s hard to believe I was working in our conservatory just a year ago. This year, I’m particularly looking forward to opening my doors for Suffolk Open Studios in June. If you’d like a behind-the-scenes look at where the magic happens, stay tuned for updates on dates and times.
But for now, it’s back to reality—I need to tackle my tax return (not exactly my favourite part of running a business!). Thank you, as always, for your support. It means the world to me.
Until next time,
Carla x
